Here at Goldstone we understand that football teams come in all shapes and sizes from professional, semi-professional, amateur, grassroots and everything in between. There are a wide range of covers that we can provide to help teams of any type and with our strong connections and knowledge of the Football industry, we are with you every step of the way.

Below are some of the organizations and individuals within the football industry that need to consider their insurance coverage needs:

  • Football Clubs

These can range from Premier League all the way to Youth grassroots clubs. Often amateur clubs are made up of multiple teams of different ages and abilities who form the overall club.

  • Leagues
  • Local Football Associations
  • Coaches / Physios
  • Players

The covers required by people involved in Football can vary greatly depending on circumstances. Below are some of the policies that we can provide for you and a bit of info on why they might be required:

  • Public Liability (FA Requirement)

Public Liability protects against injury or property damage: One bad injury, mistimed tackle or misplaced shot could result in you paying large sums of money if you don’t have Public Liability. If you’re a coach, a member of your team might injure themselves and hold you responsible.

  • Employers Liability

This protects the club in the event of a claim arising from a member of the team pertaining to injury or death, as well as loss, damage or theft of their possessions while on club duty.

  • Personal Accident for teams and individuals (FA Requirement)

This policy will protect your team against accidents and injuries that occur when partaking in your chosen sport, whether that be in training, playing or in the midst of a competition. This form of cover has been made compulsory by the FA (Football Association) for all teams to obtain this cover.

  • Property cover for stadiums, stands, clubhouses and facilities

As with any other property you want to make sure that the cost of rebuilding or replacing it if it is damaged is covered and this is no different for Football clus and their rounds. Football clubs of all sizes can have facilities and stands, so it doesn’t have to be a 90,000 seat stadium in order require cover for damages.

  • Contents

Protect your contents such as ground maintenance equipment, footballs, general equipment and even your hard earned trophies from theft, loss or accidental damage.

  • Directors and Officers (Volunteers and Trustees)

A Directors & Officers (D&O) insurance policy is an important policy for the leadership of youth and amateur sports teams and leagues. It covers willful acts made by board members of the organization that lead to losses (as opposed to negligent acts, which are covered under the general liability).

  • Legal Expenses

Provides protection against legal liability for bodily injury to third parties and damage to third party property. ‘Player to Player’ cover options for either legal defence costs only or to include cover for awards.
